Learamo Lparunye Elijah

Elijah was born in 2000 and is the 4th born of six children. His parents, who are traditional nomadic pastoralists, live in Leang’ata area 15 kilometers from Ndonyo Wasin Village. Elijah’s family is particularly poor and his father arrives each day to work as the gateman for the school. He receives $50 a month for this work. All of his children are very clever, hardworking and responsible and he has sent all of them to school so that they may be able to support themselves in the future. We hope to be able to support them through secondary education.
At Ndonyo Wasin primary school Elijah has worked very hard and has always been in the top 10 of his class. He achieved marks of 336 in his grade 8 exams, those scores put him in the top 10% of the country and he has received a place at Nyangwa Boys in Embu which is one of the top high schools in the country. Elijah is responsible and persistent. He is respected by his classmates and was made class prefect and dormitory prefect. He was also the commander of the scouts troop in school.
