Lemaramba Marawan Elijah

Elija’s parents split up soon after he was born. His mother remarried and Elija now has two stepbrothers and one stepsister. Elija was born in 1989 and several years older than most of the students in his class. The reason for this is that his mother took him out of school when he was 12 years old to look after his stepfather’s goats. After three years of this work Elija realized that he was not going to be able to make anything of his life. His step father refused him any goats of his own and the only opportunity Elija had was to go and look after someone else’s goats. This is one of the lowest paying jobs in Samburu. He had enjoyed school very much and so he decided to go back to school and work hard to catch up and make something of his life.
Elija is very serious about his studies and is determined to suceed. . He wants to be able to help his stepbrothers and sisters so they too can get an education and get rise out of the poverty that his family is in.
Elija graduated from Sereolipi Primary School in 2008 with marks in his KCPE exams of 311. He has been accepted to Metei High School in Eldoret which a good provincial school.
