Family: Albert’s family are from Lorora an area about 14 kilometers from Sereolipi village and they are traditional nomadic pastoralists who migrate frequently in search of pasture and water for their animals. Albert’s father died in a cattle raid when he was 2 years old and he and his brother and his mother now live with his uncles in an extended manyatta.
Schooling: Albert joined Sereolipi preschool when he was 5 and then Sereolipi Primary School when he was 6. He is very clever and hardworking and has consistently been top of his class. He has excellent leadership skills and has always been very good at dealing with students’ problems and mobilizing the pupils for all group activities. In class six he was class prefect and in class seven he was games captain. Last year he was elected by his fellow students to be head boy. He is positive, determined and has a good sense of humor. He is very popular with both teachers and students and has always enjoyed helping the students in classes below him.
He was the school’s best footballer playing defender and he was in the school choir. He was also an active member of the debating group and boy scouts.
He achieved marks of 362 in his final exams at the end of grade 8 and he has a place at Baringo High School, which is one of the best schools in the country.
