Lemorogo Isaac

Isaac was the first person in his family to ever go to school. He lives in an area called Marti which is about 20 kilometers from Ndonyo Wasin. When he was young there was a small nursery school in Marti that took place under a thorn tree for just a few years. Isaac went to this school and enjoyed it so much that he persuaded his parents to send him to Ndonyo Wasin Primary School. His family are traditional Samburu nomadic pastoralists and Isaac has 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Isaac’s other older brothers are warriors responsible for looking after the cattle and they migrate with them in times of drought in search of pasture and water.
Isaac has been consistently top of his class at Ndonyo Wasin primary School. He graduated in 2008 with marks of 307 in his KCPE exams. For some reason he was nervous in his exams. We were expecting stronger marks from him and we think these results do not reflect his true ability. He has a place at Oloolaiser Secondary School in Nairobi. It is an excellent school.

Isaac has a very outgoing personality and strong leadership skills and we expect him to do well in secondary school.
