Family: Eliza has four brothers and 2 sisters. His family lives in Lengaya village and are traditional nomadic pastoralists moving frequently during the drought periods to find pasture and water for their animals. Neither of her parents ever went to school. She is the first born and the first to go to school.
Schooling: Eliza says her father loves her so much. He vowed to never let her daughter undergo the traditional life he went through and decided to take her to Lturuya Preschool in 2007. He has always been following up on her academic progress. In 2009 Eliza joined Sereolipi Primary School. She has been a committed and motivated student ever since.
She is very goal oriented and refuses to accept any position in class below the top 10—which is a feat in classes of almost 60 students! She is rarely sidetracked. She is also a student that makes good choices – she is selective and prudent and has integrity and honesty; she is not afraid to speak up. Her strict character in observing school rules saw got her elected library prefect in 2014. She is a great reader and loves helping the younger students in the library. She is fluent in English and very confident. Eliza also participated on the school dancing team and recited poems to parents. It was quite the show! She believes with her strong sense of fairness she will be a lawyer one day. She had marks of 309 in her KCPE exams and she was offered a place at Moi
