Lesamburi Chepkoech




Chepkoech is the 3rd born girl of a family of six children. Her father died in 2001 in a tragic road accident. Her mother lives in Sereolipi fetching and selling firewood to meet the basic needs of her children. Her mother owns no cows and goats which is the traditional way Samburu families raise money for school fees

Chepkoech joined Sereolipi primary school in 1998 and graduated in 2006 with a score of 273 marks in the National examination and emerged the best female student in 12 schools in the division. At school she was a hardworking and committed student. She is also active in many school activities. She had been representing her school at the district level in athletics and volleyball since 2002. She is looking forward to continuing this in secondary school.

She received admission to St Francis Girls Secondary in Dol Dol. She is extremely grateful for her scholarship which will allow her to continue with secondary education and help her achieve her dream of becoming a nurse.
