lolpusike Joram

Joram was born in 1996. He achieved 286 on his KCPE exams. He is one of 4 boys that are going to Secondary School this year who attended one of the Thorntree preschools (Nesesai preschool) that we first opened in the rural areas they live in 2001. Without the preschools it is highly unlikely that any of these students would have gone to school. They are all the first people in their families to ever go to school.

Joram’s parents are traditional nomadic pastoralists moving from place to place in search of pasture and water for their cows. They lost more than half their cows and goats in the recent drought that was one of the worst in recorded history.

Joram has one brother and one sister. His brother helps his father look after the animals but his younger sister is also at Ndonyo Wasin Primary School.
